A few words about the Poet: Ioannis Polemis (1862 - 1924) was a Greek poet and playwright. He was the founder and first president of the Society of Greek Playwrights and a member of the New Athenian School, which opposed formal language and the excesses of Romanticism. In 1917, his collection Broken Marbles won the National Award of Letters and Arts.

A few words about the Sculptor:  The sculptor Loukas Doukas (1890 - 1925) received the Hrysovergeio Award in 1911 - 1912 and in 1919 he enrolled at the Paris School of Fine Arts where he studied under Jean Boucher, In 1925 he was appointed an adjunct professor of Plastic Arts at the Polytechnic University. He took part in group exhibitions in Greece and abroad, with participation in exhibitions of the Greek Artists' Association and in the 1918 Greek - French exhibition in Athens.
